Stephanie is a Director. She qualified as a Solicitor in 2004 and she has been a Duty Solicitor since 2005. Stephanie specialises in Criminal Defence and Prison Law and she is a member of the Association of Prison Lawyers. She has been appearing before the Parole Board since 2010 for Oral Hearings, specialising in Lifer cases, Pre-Tariff Sifts and Recall to Prison matters. She undertakes Adjudications before the Independent Adjudicators, as well as appearing in the Criminal Courts. In her spare time, she enjoys running, yoga and spending time with her family.
Hashmita is a Director. She qualified as a Solicitor in 2009, specialising in Criminal Defence Work. She conducts trials in the Magistrates Court, attends the Police Station as Duty Solicitor and she prepares Crown Court cases. Hashmita has previously dealt with cases all over England and has worked in Manchester and London. She is fluent in Gujarati. In her spare time she enjoys swimming, cooking and reading.
John qualified as a Solicitor in 1973. He became a Duty Solicitor in 1974 and a Solicitor-Advocate (Criminal Proceedings) in 2003. He specialises in Crime and has operated at Partner, Consultant or Head of Department level throughout his long career. He holds a 1st Class Honours degree together with an MA in Legal Practice. Outside the law, he keeps fit by running and playing 5 a side football together with chasing after his 7 grandchildren.
Simon is a Solicitor, qualifying in 1998. He attained Higher Rights in 2005 as an Advocate in the Crown Court. He specialises in Prison Law but has extensive experience in cases before the Court of Appeal, Courts Martial and he has appeared at the Central Criminal Court (the Old Bailey). In his spare time, Simon plays golf and is a season ticket holder at a well- known Black Country football club. Until recently, he was heavily involved in Willenhall R.U.F.C.
Sebah Naz Baig
Naz is a duty qualified Criminal Defence Solicitor hailing from London, which is where she completed her training and qualified in 2015. She has extensive experience in representing vulnerable persons, including those suffering from psychological and mental health problems. Naz works closely with appropriate experts in complex legal matters involving fitness to plead and insanity. Her practice ranges from dealing with minor driving offences, to the most serious offences of Fraud, Violence, Computer Misuse, Robbery and Sex offences. Naz is fluent in Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi ensuring effective client care for a varied client base. In her spare time, Naz enjoys bingeing on box sets, arts & crafts and is an avid shisha fan.
Sue is our Office and Compliance Manager. Sue has a background in legal aid compliance and auditing, having worked in both public sector (Public Defender Service and LSC) and private practice. She has vast experience of contract management and obtaining and maintaining quality standards and compliance requirements. She has been responsible for audits to include SQM; Lexcel; peer review and costs compliance and has provided assistance to other firms in relation to legal aid audits and peer review in a consulting capacity.
